For Immediate Release to the General Public:
Emma Steiner Confirmed as new Director of Fish and Wildlife:

September 3rd, 2021: Emma Steiner’s confirmation hearing for the position of Director of the Department of Fish and Wildlife is held in the Committee Hearing Chamber of the San Andreas State Capitol. Even from the onset of the event it was clear that the San Andreas’ Park Rangers (SAPR) clearly supported her in this endeavor. At least twenty Park Rangers were present for the confirmation hearing. This may be considered unsurprising to some, given her time spent both in the SAPR and Los Santos Police Department.

Emma Steiner stated more than once during her hearing that her main goals for the department are to get everyday citizens more involved in the outdoors and for SAPR to have more interaction with the citizens of San Andreas. Steiner stated that she wants the state park system to be enjoyable for everyone present and aims to help SAPR in its policing methods however she can so that no one can ruin San Andreas parks for others.

Senator Noah Wade asked about the Hunting and Animal Protection Act Amendments, specifically the proposed ‘free hunting day’ that has been talked about within the Senate. He was curious as to how Steiner would implement this given it passed in the Senate and received the Governor’s signature. Steiner replied that she would ensure that the licensing division made it accessible to the public, while also ensuring hunter safety during the event. Steiner aims to help new hunters learn the basics of hunting while also teaching them the laws that are enforced by the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Steiner also hopes to aid existing licensed hunters be more comfortable in their actions around unlicensed hunters on the ‘free hunting day’.

After several questions from Senators Valeria Reyes, Marty Haney, Rudy Benson, and Noah Wade; Emma Steiner was unanimously confirmed by all those present. Senator Edward Ulf was present for voting but did not comment or question the nominee.

The confirmation passed through the full Senate with no objection.
