Press release topic: Former President Pro Tempore Noah Wade Appointed as the 33rd Secretary of State.

On Monday, October 18th, Governor Robert Brandt appointed former Senate President Pro Tempore Noah Wade as the thirty-third Secretary of State.

Noah Wade, the newly appointed Secretary of State - previously the President Pro Tempore and a State Senator for the Republican Caucus - will resign from his previous role to take on the role of Secretary of State in a non-partisan capacity. He is the successor to the previous Secretary of State, Guillermo Perez.

Noah Wade took an oath of office for the fourth time in his career. He solemnly swore to support and defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic; bearing true faith and allegiance to the same; that he took the obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that he would well and faithfully discharge the duties of office on which he was about to enter: So help him God.

Noah Wade will not only have the duties of overseeing the executive branch, but will also have to uphold the responsibilities of being President of the Senate, in the absence of a Lieutenant Governor, the Secretary of State shall serve in their place. The President of the Senate has the responsibility to cast a vote on legislation, appointments or procedure in the event that senate voting ends in a tie.

Noah Wade started his Journey as the Chief of Staff for the 31st Secretary of State, Elizabeth Chang in May 2021. From June 2021, he had taken on the role of Gaming Commissioner whilst remaining under Elizabeth Chang until Guillermo Perez was appointed the position to fill the vacancy. Noah Wade remained the Chief of Staff for the newly selected Secretary of State until July 2021 when he transferred to then-President Pro Tempore Frank Ernst's office as his Chief of Staff. Noah Wade precured this position until he became State Senator representing District 26 as a part of the Republican Caucus.

Noah Wade performed his Senatorial duties with a bipartisan mindset, introducing senate bills such as S.B. 50 – Hunting & Animal Protection Act Amendments of 2021; "An act to establish the regulation for hunting and the protection of animals within the state of San Andreas". On September 1st 2021 during a Senate session, Noah Wade was voted by the members of the Senate as the new President Pro Tempore, the gavel was passed on from former President Pro Tempore Frank Ernst to Noah Wade, marking the senior legislator's final floor debate of his career.

Noah Wade continued his Senate duties while being the President Pro Tempore, introducing bills such as S.B. 57 – Defense of Habitation Bill of 2021; "A bill to grant immunity to persons for the utilization of force to defend oneself against an intruder", along with his cosponsors: Senators Valeria Reyes, Rudy Benson and Adrian Rossi. This continued until October 18th 2021 when he was appointed Secretary of State.
