Job Description and Duties

The Strategic Communications and Outreach (SCO) team is seeking to hire a student assistant to work on media advocacy for the State Government in various settings. The duties of the Graphic Designer consists of creating and editing a wide variety of print and audio/visual projects to promote governmental agendas. You will have the luxury of working alongside with Voter Services Team in collaboration to promote electoral information in San Andreas. Members of the team are expected to provide the highest quality customer service to: State Elected Officials, County Elections Officials and staff members, candidates for elected offices, our constituents, San Andreas voters, Military and Overseas voters, persons registering to vote, campaign organizations, established political parties, interested parties and other local individuals with their concerns, questions, requests and comments.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be familiar with general office procedures and possess exceptional customer service skills in a professional office setting.
• Must have experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Publisher, in addition to Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and the Internet.
• Must have good attendance and be punctual and professional.
• Must be able to work both independently and in a group or team setting.
• Must maintain accurate records, pay strict attention to detail, and communicate effectively with the public as well as all levels of staff.
• Must be reliable and have strong language and grammar skills.
• Portfolios are preferred.

The San Andreas State Treasury designate a single salary range for all student assistants, GS-2 to GS-4 to provide delegated departments flexibility within an established salary cap, discretion to establish salaries above the approved levels.

Who May Apply?

Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list.

Students must be enrolled at a minimum in: six semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.

Students declared major must match the major(s) listed in the job posting.

Conditions of Employment

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions is dependent upon the mutual consent of the Office of Strategic Communications and Outreach and the employee. This means that either SCO or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
